Happy Winter Solstice!

“Look round and round upon this bare bleak plain, and see even here, upon a winter's day, how beautiful the shadows are! Alas! it is the nature of their kind to be so. The loveliest things in life, Tom, are but shadows; and they come and go, and change and fade away, as rapidly as these!”

~ Charles Dickens

Happy Hanukkah!

The darkness of the whole world cannot swallow the glowing of a candle.

~ Robert Altinger

4 more days!

In the old days, it was not called the Holiday Season; the Christians called it "Christmas" and went to church; the Jews called it "Hanukkah" and went to synagogue; the atheists went to parties and drank. People passing each other on the street would say "Merry Christmas!" or "Happy Hanukkah!" or (to the atheists) "Look out for the wall!"

~Dave Barry

  9. Bridget- Very wise words. It's Christmas here, and if anyone doesn't like it they get coal in their stocking.

    I still believe in Santa.

    Have a terrific one!
