It's July And I Don't Know How That Happened ...

How did it already turn out to be July?  I'm still back around June 17th or sometime around there, so realizing that it's the first day of the next month today was a bit of a surprise.  Though now that I think of it, June did not end on a good note for me, so perhaps it's just as well that it is on its way.

Remember the foot brace I got months ago, because of torn ligaments on the outside of my left foot?  Well, the doctor originally said I would only need to wear it for month.  It is uncomfortable, can only fit [poorly] into one pair of shoes (which are now worn through the soles, which mean that even with socks, I end up with dirty feet, or if it's raining, wet feet), and even on the nicest of days, increases my body temperature by at least 10 degrees if not more.  So you can imagine how excited I was to be getting rid of it.  No deal, he said to wear it three more weeks. So I was supposed to see him again on June 29, and wow was I looking forward to that!  I even saved up some money and made an appointment for a pedicure for Saturday, June 30.

Long story short - I have to wear it another month.  I am more than well-aware that so many people have it worse than I do, but I have to tell you that I was upset about it.  So - I guess it's good that June went on its merry way; July will get me closer to the end of it.  Or so I've been told.

Moving on, I apologize for not writing this post earlier, but Happy Canada Day!

As you know if you have read this blog for any length of time, I am very fond of Canada (or as we call it, "Canadia").  And I do hope that any of my friends north of the border have had a good long weekend.

I have finally decided what I want to make for my newest great-nephew, Parker, who was born on May 5.  His parents are not really the type who would appreciate an article of clothing or a baby blanket that I would knit for them, so I've decided to make a knitted toy, specifically, this one.  My plan is to start on July 4 - I'll be home all day by myself (The Tim has to work during the day), and it's supposed to be hot and/or rainy, so I think it will be a good time to start.  Theoretically, it won't take me too long, so hopefully I can get it ready and send it in the next month or so.

That's it for tonight.  Stay cool!

Bridget- Happy Canada day to you too!

Bummer about the foot brace, because one of the few pleasures of summer is having your toes done.

But the good news is- it's July!

That's so cute!! He'll like it. And if he doesn't, you can send it my way.

Sorry to hear about your brace! I'm going in for spine surgery the end of the month and he had BETTER not be lying to me about the recovery time.

So, so sorry about the foot brace. Hang in there.

The elephant couldn't be any cuter. Are you making one with stripes?

I've made a number of those Elefantes - they are very cute and not too tough to make. And (belated) Happy Canadia Day/Weekend to you, too! Hope the foot gets better.
