Breezy

With the title of this post, I'm trying to convince myself that I am near the ocean, feeling a nice, cool, breeze.  Because it should not still be 100 degrees at nearly 8:00 in the evening, nor should it have been 85 degrees at 5:00 this morning.  So a nice cool sea breeze would be just the thing ...

Oh, that reminds me - I have something to show you. This is a picture of the beginning of my Narrangansett (Ravelry link). It looks nice and breezy to me, and the turquoise is very nice-weather-calming as far as I'm concerned.

This is my first attempt at a top-down, all-in-one-piece sweater.  So far, the pattern is very easy to understand, and I'm really enjoying it.  I have a little more done than when this picture was taken - I'm actually at the point where I should put it on waste yarn and see if it needs to go further or not at the underarms.  (Wish me luck with that!)

The yarn I'm using is Nashua Handknits Creative Focus Linen, and so far, I'm very happy with it.  Turquoise is one of my favorite colors (especially in summertime) and Narragansett = New England, which I love, so it all just seemed to come together.  If it turns out, I will be a happy camper (and knitter!).

Not much actual knitting has been going on at all around here this week.  Whenever it's this hot and/or humid, I get home from work, and that's it.  Completely zapped of any energy.  Frustrating, but at the same time, things I'm working on have no specific deadlines, so I figure I'll get to them when I get to them.  In a perfect world, this sweater would have been finished already, but since spring and summer come every year, I'll still get to wear it at some point.  (And no way would I have been able to wear it AT ALL in the past month anyway ...)

This weekend I will probably stay put for the most part, and The Tim has to work, so it will be low activity level anyway.  Just as well, since it's supposed to still be a bazillion degrees, and I just get even more irritated with the world than usual when it's like this.  If I stay home, I won't hurt anyone.

As a woman said on the TV news the other night, when she was interviewed as a witness to a street fight:  "Seems like the hot weather gets here, and people start actin' the fool."

That would be an excellent saying for a t-shirt ...

Miserably hot here, too. We're spending the day in the AC, though we'd rather be up in Maine (boohoo). Stay cool (and don't act the fool :)

I was born and raised in the south, lived here most of my life so far, and I still hate hot weather, so I can relate to your discomfort. AC is the only answer.

That IS a good idea for a t-shirt. I have been watching your temperatures with something close to awe. I am used to the 100+ temperatures here in Central California, but with humidity added? Whew.

Humidity should be outlawed. That would make a great shirt, the heat does make people do crazy things!

Thankfully our heat broke yesterday. Come visit!
