2-2-22

Besides it being 2-2-22 (which is a BIG thing itself!), today is also:

The second day of Black History Month

The second day of Lunar New Year - the Year of the Tiger

Groundhog Day

James Joyce's birthday

The Feast Day of Saint Blaise
(patron saint of wool combers, wool traders,
animals, and throat illnesses)

Seems like more than enough for one day to me. 😊

Big day!

Did you ever go and get your throat blessed? My mother, so distressed at my many bouts of strep, bundled me off to St. John the Baptist Church one year and had my sad throat blessed.

Did not help.

That's more than enough for one day! What a weird picture of James Joyce! He looks possessed....

The groundhog day stuff never has made sense to me. 6 more weeks of winter would be early for us here in the midwest - it is usually pretty cold until April or May!
Happy New Year to you!

Happy 2-2-22!
My oldest Grands are Chinese-American and I almost forgot it was the Lunar New Year. I never remember in time to send them the little red packets but I do have an envelope filled with money for them each when I see them.
The groundhog like thing that lives under our shed would have seen his shadow if he came out. I haven't seen him in ages so I guess he's fast asleep waiting for spring. I wish I could sleep the rest of this nasty winter away.

I never remember when Groundhogs Day is so thank you for the reminder.

It was also (what would have been) my grandparent's wedding anniversary yesterday. When I was a kid, I always wondered why anyone would choose to get married on Ground Hog's Day. (Which seemed like a much bigger deal when I was a kid.) We get another super TWOs-day later this month . . . on 2/22/22. Such excitement. . .
