Things I've Just Realized in the Last Hour Or So

  • Today is Sunday, not Saturday.

  • Today is June 14, which is Flag Day in the U.S. As I was walking to work this morning, I kept wondering why there were so many flags out, since it was Saturday, June 13, instead of Sunday, June 14, which is Flag Day. (see #1)

  • Regardless of which day of the weekend it is, I have forgotten to send a birthday card to The Tim's sister Kathy, whose birthday was yesterday, and who always remembers to send us cards.

  • Yesterday (which actually was Saturday, June 13) was Worldwide Knit in Public Day. I forgot. But since I was at work anyhow, I couldn't have done much about it. Still, it would have been nice to have remembered ...

  • There's a load of towels in the dryer. Fortunately, they are dry, but they've been there since last Thursday night.

  • We need cat food. If I don't remember to stop tomorrow on my way home from work, it will not be pretty!

  • I am this*close to finishing Dotty. But I won't be able to head up to Rosie's to have Lisa help me slice and dice the steeks for at least two more weeks, since she is only there on Tuesdays, and I can't make it the next two Tuesdays.

  • James (Halden and Ben's little boy, and Doughboy's brother) turns a year old this coming Saturday, and we can't go to his party, because I will be at work and Tim will be taking Seb to summer camp.

  • I need to finish James' birthday present, so I can mail it to him. (So far, I have the concept. And some of the materials. )

  • Seb is going to summer camp next week, so we won't see him for 6 weeks!

  • Tomorrow will mark halfway through the month of June.

I really need to start paying more attention ...

I am really rotten about remembering to get clothes out of the dryer. Although now I am doing laundry with passion because our washing machine drains into a tub/sink sort of thing and an errant sock blocked the drain and it overflowed. All the laundry that was on the floor is now soaked and our dehumidifier is chugging merrily away to dry the damp carpet. Note to self: look more seriously into removing crappy carpet from laundry room.

I can't believe it's halfway through June already! Summer always flies by too fast. :(

You know those cats will send you back out if you forget the food.

I need cat food too. Remind me.

I completely spaced WWKIP day/weekend myself. June is really throwing me off.

And the cats aren't folding the towels because...?

I have days like that, too. I feel for you.

That was tremendously fun reading. It's such a great feeling knowing you're not the only one who has such days. I had one, last week. I was watching the new Pride & Prejudice, trying to pedal my stationary bike. I wore little compression shorts that were cutting off my circulation, so I got up, stepped on the remote and knocked over a bottle of water. That was after I moved the jeans off the bike and buried both remote controls and then had to dig for them, which was after the bit where I picked up the remotes that don't function and dropped one, which seemed to shatter (the batteries and back came off, but we're on concrete because my husband is a freak so it was really loud).

That was the good part of the day. See? Feel better? The word verification is "holyba". Sounds like something one would utter after dropping a remote on concrete.

Oh yeah, don't forget the cat food! The towels in the dryer might be a bit moldy if you forget to take them out, but forgetting cat food? Oh my, that's far worse.

Mary, who has forgotten both towels in the dryer and cat food more than once...

We sometimes lack milk, bread, or even the makings for a human supper, but we've never run out of dogfood. I am well-trained.

I just spit tea on my desktop. I believe some shot out my nose, too.

Lisa,

I hope it didn't get on your keyboard. Apparently, I'm responsible for a handful of gummed-up keyboards. Warms the heart, doesn't it?

Bookfool,

It was spit on the keyboard or hock on the chittlins. I took the path of least complaint.

My code word was dacares. Does he? Does Da really care? I wonder...

Your post made me feel better. I'm having a lot of those days lately, and can't even blame work since I'm unemployed still! Hope things calm down soon for you.
