Good Thing It's Friday ...

because frankly, if it was not Friday, I think I would seriously have to consider a life of crime.  People at work have been ridiculous this week, which is bad enough.  But then today, we have a temperature of 98 degrees, but a "feels like" temperature of 110 degrees.

I don't want to tell you what this makes me "feel like" because I don't want this blog post to be used against me in a court of law ...

Now I'm home, and the kitties have been fed (because of course they were - as usual - near death from starvation), and my evening and weekend have begun. The Tim is working tonight, so I am on my own, which is probably a good thing for everyone involved!

Here is my plan for the evening:

1. Enjoy a glass of wine.
2. Eat the healthy salad I bought on my way home from work, because I could not bear the thought of fixing anything at all for myself.  The salad has artichoke hearts, which is extra pleasing.
3. Clean up any dishes I dirty.
4. Take a bubble bath.
5. Watch the Olympics and knit, and cuddle kitties.
6. Have a drink with The Tim when he gets home.
7. Go to bed.

These are all good things, that will let me go into the weekend in a happier frame of mind.

Win-win!

All of these sentiments and most of the activities described could have been written by Me! This horrid Summer...tropical humidity, high temperatures...we may as well be living in a bowl of soup. I am sick of it. I feel like it may as well be Winter since I am hibernating in the house to escape The Weather.

Ugh.

I hope it is a Lovely Wine.

That does sound like a good list, and one you might want to repeat tomorrow as it's supposed to feel just as awful. Long stretches of sweltering days like this are what make me shake my head when people exclaim their love for summer. Fall can't come soon enough for me! Sending cooling, non-homicidal thoughts your way...

I have had nothing but salads during this latest heat wave-and tequila. Someone commented on my last post about the heat that it makes them feel "stabby". It sure does.
Happy weekend!

I like your evening plan!! It's been very hot and steamy here too. I'm hanging out in the AC and knitting till it cools down a bit.

This has been an awful summer of heat! It is so bad out there right now - you can't breathe! I did go for a walk late last night - after the sun had gone down. There was a strong breeze blowing, which is the only thing that allowed me to not run screaming back into the house!

Hope your Friday turned out well. The entire weekend was yucky. In addition to getting "nasty" all this heat and humidity makes me (literally) sick to my stomach and headache prone. So wishing for Fall. Today and tomorrow sound awful for the area. Take it easy!!

I know you've written this post especially for me, Bridget. It is hot here as well and I've been nibbled to death at work until I let myself down and snapped back, and not in a lady-like way :-( I've been kicking myself ever since.

I really hope you checked off all your items on this fabulous list. I'd have a glass of wine with you :) I hope it was a wonderful weekend. I laughed about the kitties. Based on my minimal first hand knowledge of cats and all of my friends' cats, they do seem to always be angling for food. More than dogs. I have so many stories of cats trying to wake people up on their faces at 4am for breakfast when clearly that is not when their human usually feeds them. So funny. Cats are so sassy. Kinda love it.
