No Tricks or Treats

Happy Halloween!

I hope your Halloween was more fun than mine was - we did not get a single trick-or-treater.  It's so disappointing, as I love seeing the kids in their costumes.  In previous years, Dug and I would sit outside on the steps and needless to say he was very popular!  Tonight it was a little bit too chilly to sit out, but other than the little girl next door who always has a party with her friends, I didn't even hear any kids around.

Sigh.

**********

I signed up for Gratitude Week, which I read about at Kat's blog.  I figured it would be a way to focus on good things, but also help me slide into NaBloPoMo.  I participated in NaBloPoMo last year, and though some days it was really a challenge, it was also a lot of fun and I enjoyed it.

Anyway, today I am grateful that I can still enjoy Halloween even without trick-or-treaters.  I enjoy seeing ours (and others') decorations.  I like seeing pictures of kids, adults, and pets in costumes of all kinds.  It will be a nice treat to have some candy to eat, since all of ours is left over (we didn't buy that much, but it's still all here).  In a world where plenty of people can't celebrate Halloween even if they wanted to, or where having anything at all to eat, much less leftover candy, is a struggle, I know that I am a lucky person, and I am grateful for that.

Farewell, October.  Tomorrow we're on to November, to see what it brings.

No trick or treaters here tonight either. I suppose it's a different world and taking candy from strangers isn't a good idea anymore. So sad.

Even though I have seen some children in our new apartment complex, we had no trick-or-treaters. :-(

Maybe TorT is going the way of the dinosaur.

I do love November though! So ---- onward to the holidays!

Here is to a week that overflows with gratitude! We had few trick or treater's and I was grateful for each and every one of them! Steve and I discussed why this was, but we really did not have any clue as to why there were so few...

We didn't have too many come to our door for Halloween. Maybe 6 knocks (doorbell rings) total. It has always been light in our neighborhood, but I miss seeing little ones all dressed up and having fun.

Trick or Treat is on the decline in my neighborhood as well, even as the adults have gone a little bit nuts with decorations and loud "haunted house" soundtracks blaring from their porches during the hour and a half allotted for the exercise. Not sure when this holiday got to be such a big deal.

We actually did quite well for trick or treaters this year. I was surprise. Thankfully, I stopped Dave from eating all the candy before they got here (I'll have to hide it next year).

The previous years we haven't had many, but like you, I still like to celebrate.

Aww None here either but I didnt expect any in the c ountry really . I heard at the Target today, there were plenty of ghosts and goblins trick or treating in the town though. So its alive! I had fun with our pumpkins anyhow. and it is so fun to see our friends little ones all dressed up for the tradition through the magic of the computer

We didn't get any either, but then again there aren't many children in our apartment complex. The leasing office did hand out candy so I'm sure there was plenty! All my leftover candy went to my office.

No tricksters here either, but then all the kids in the neighborhood are grown and gone. The new thing around here is to go trick or treating at the mall, I guess. October sure went by quickly, didn't it?

We had a few more kids this year than last year. Little Buddy had the time of his life, he made it to 12 whole houses!
