Yesterday, right before I got to work, a woman stopped me to ask if I knew the time. So I looked at my watch and said, "It's about 3 minutes to 7." She kinda laughed and said, "A watch. How quaint. Thank you."
So I've decided that, going forward, if someone asks me the time again, I'll say, "Good neighbor, as I gaze upon the small timepiece upon mine wrist, it doth say to me that it is nearly seven of the clock this morn."
You want quaint, I'll give you quaint. 😀

I think you need to change to a pocket watch!
Oh my gosh. I was sipping coffee and nearly choked! LOL YES... more quaint please... a lot more! Hahahahaha!
LOL! Please do it!
LOL! Good for you, and I do hope you do that.
How funny is that? I can only imagine the kind of person that would say something like that. In fact, I just finished writing a blog post about it that will publish tomorrow.
Quaint! Ha! Your future response is priceless. Of course if you really want to get them, you could carry a pocket sun dial! :)
Oh, YES! Bridget, that is wonderful!
XO
ha ha. That's so true though. But I love my apple watch. It is nearly shatterproof and i was always dropping my phone . I became used to it on my wrist very quickly. And it has been YEARS
It’s not quaint, it’s classic. That was a bitchy thing for that woman to say.
Kinda like when someone sees me knitting and says “oh, I used to watch my grandma knit.”
Really? If that’s not immediately followed by the person professing their admiration for Grandma’s innovation and creativity, they’re on my shit list. Permanently.
almost choked on my oatmeal this morning! priceless!!!
Love it! Reminds me of my old job. I had a traditional watch and had to log the time every time I did certain things - which was about 90% of the time. My boss would give me a hard time about having to translate 12 minutes to 10:00 into 9:48. If I was rushing, instead of translating, I'd write 12<10 which made perfect sense to me but not to anyone else. I finally broke down and bought a digital clock for the office.
