The Last Weekend of Summer

I know many (most?) of you are summer fans, but I will not miss it at all.  I did better trying to live in the moment this year, and not wishing it away, but it was not a good summer for a lot of reasons, and I'll be happier than usual to say goodbye.

The weather here in Philadelphia promises to feel summer-like, fortunately without any humidity, and we have no specific plans, which is nice, since I'm enjoying the feeling of not being scheduled for anything.

I do hope to finish the socks I'm knitting, which is completely doable, since I have only the toe on sock #2 to complete.  I'm hoping to start my next stitching project, and I also want to see if I can organize a gift for my great-nephew's 50th birthday on October 1st.  What is rattling around in my brain and reality may not be compatible - we'll see.

I'm sure there will be some outside time as well.  I think The Tim has things he wants to do around the house tomorrow, and he works on Sundays, so at a minimum I'll take some walks with Hamlet.  He is always happy to join me, whether we are going around the block, or on a long ramble.

Here's hoping your last weekend of summer is enjoyable, and that fall will hold some good things for all of us.  :-)

As you know, I am a big fan of summer. That said, a nice fall runs a close second! Here's to a lovely, lingering fall for all of us. XO

I love your rant from a previous post Bridget, I am not a fan of advice from others unless I ask for it. I am so looking forward to a break in the heat, this morning it was 73 out when I took the boys outside, but up to 93 this afternoon. Wishing you a great weekend.

For someone who SO loathes summer, I SO worship beaches. The last image made me a bit teary.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend and your beautiful weather continues. Summer is my least favorite season and I have tried not to moan about the heat and humidity. August was pretty brutal and I was struggling. Days like yesterday and today are just perfect for me. I love having to wear a sweatshirt when I walk in the morning.

I LOVE that The End photo. I wish I had thought of that when we were at the beach yesterday.

It's typical Virginia fall weather here. We had to put extra blankets on the beds the other night but tomorrow it will be back up into the upper 90's.
Awesome ending photo! Hope you get your toes knit. Happy First Day of Fall!

It's hot enough to have the A/C on here. That's ok though - most of my plans are to stay in an knit!

I will not miss summer either, I wilt and get super crabby. I am waiting patiently for the chill in the air to match the fall season.
