Quiet For a While

This post is the last you'll hear from me for a while, probably a couple of  weeks at a very minimum.

Remember The Big Fall in June?  Well, they did about a thousand different tests and scans on me during the two days I was in the hospital.  And though I didn't break any bones, and it was determined that the fall was not due to any cardiac problems, they did find a tumor on my right kidney that was determined to be cancer.  As it turns out, falling was a lucky thing, since the dr told me that by the time I had symptoms, there might be very little they could do for me.

So on Monday, July 28, I'm having surgery to remove the tumor.  Hopefully that will take care of it, but if not, I have every confidence in my doctors.  I've been told that there is a good chance that I'll be just fine, I just need time to recover.  I'll be off work for 6 weeks, and I'm hoping that soon I'll at least feel good enough to check in here, and read all of your blogs.

If you would, please keep a kind thought for me, and if you are the praying type, I would appreciate a prayer.  I'll be back as soon as I can be.

Have a good rest of the summer!

Good thoughts and prayers coming your way! Here's to a complete and fast recovery. Hopefully you will be discharged quickly from the hospital and get to spend most of your recovery time at home with your family. I know we are just internet acquaintances but, you have sent me some really nice things in the past and since I am in central Pennsylvania, if you need help with something, please contact me. I would be pleased to return your kindnesses.

I'm so sorry that's what turned out to be the source of your medical woes, although I'm definitely glad they caught it this early.

I send you good thoughts of quickly returned health and up-and-aboutedness and I'll be thinking of you often.

Bridget- Interesting how that happened. From what I understand, that's a very treatable type, and I have every confidence you will be just fine.

But I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

OF course you have my prayers !!!
A friends husband had the same condition. He is doing so well you'd never know it was kidney cancer … Rest up

Oh, Bridget! I am so sorry that you are going through this. It is good that they caught it early -- a true fluke, huh? It sounds like the outlook is excellent, but it isn't going to be fun in the meantime. You are definitely in my thoughts.

Oh my goodness Bridget, you are so lucky to have found this so early. You are in my thoughts and prayers and believe me if you want to chat I am here for you. Having had cancer myself 14 years ago, I get what you are going through.
Sending you my love and good luck with your surgery on Monday.

I only check in on you once every blue moon, but add my prayers to those of your regulars.

What a blessing to have it found and diagnosed early on. May your surgery be successful and your recovery complete and speedy.

Oh my dear! You are very right in that you are lucky they found it now. I will indeed be praying for you. This is one of those surgically curable cancers, so you do have a very good chance of being just fine.

I'll be thinking about you. My brother had a cancerous tumor on his kidney 30 years ago -- had surgery and he has been happily cancer-free since then. I'll pray for the same outcome for you!

As I was reading your post, I found myself smiling because I feel like you're going to be fine; it was just a feeling of peace and happiness. Take care of yourself. I'm so glad the doctors found the tumor so soon.

Oh Bridget. By now you have had your surgery and are well on the way to recovery. That's my pronouncement and I'm sticking to it!! I will keep you in my prayers. I have faith that all will be well. I had a heart attack in June 2013...absolutely NO indication that anything was wrong with me! I'm 110% recovered, have a stent so I consider myself a little bit bionic. We've never met but that doesn't mean anything. I love reading your blog and look forward to lots more posts and book reports! I sincerely mean it when I say please give a shout out if there is anything I can do. I'm not that far away...NJ.

checking in again Brigit…hope you are improving. I heard someone today say, every day in the hospital means a week of recovery. It is likely true. THings seem slow in the beginning. Give it time
