Who Will Buy?

OK, now I've just given myself an earworm - the song "Who Will Buy?" from the musical "Oliver!"  Oh well, there are worse things to have in your head.  But still, I apologize if you have it now as well.

I saw this on a blog post earlier today.

Pretty, right?  I love the bright colors.  But then I clicked on the link for it, because I was curious about the fiber, etc.  And WOW - I did not expect it to be $228.00!!

Yes, it's lambswool.  Which is really soft, and cozy, and pretty.  And if it was hand knit, I might understand the cost.  But I sincerely doubt it's hand knit.

Now I'm not saying it's a waste of money, because you know, to each their own.  But I actually have a hard time buying a scarf, regardless of price.  I always figure that I can make my own (granted I usually do not), and even if I spent money on really nice yarn, I would have the fun of knitting it.   And I truly cannot imagine, even if I saved every penny I had, spending $228.00 on the yarn for a scarf, even if was spun from the hair of baby Jesus ...

Anyway.

For today's Week of Gratitude post, Michelle wants to know what around us, delights us.  Here are four of my delights:

No matter what, they can always make me smile, and feel loved.  And that goes for not just these four, but for all of the sweethearts who have ever been and ever will be, part of my life.

What delights you?

I can see why you are grateful for those adorable delights, and "spun from the hair of baby Jesus" is going to crack me up for the rest of the evening. It actually sounds kind of awful, but so does spending $228.00 for a scarf.

Sweet kitties!
Yikes...that's a lot of cabbage for a scarf nice as it might be. Makes you feel kind of special knowing we can do that and somebody somewhere puts a pretty hefty price tag on it.

Your cats are just adorable and their cuteness supersedes the scarf. By millions. And, a scarf is a very easy thing to knit - and it is one of those projects that you can pick up and put down (sometimes for a VERY long time) but when you go back to it, it takes zero time to figure out where you were in the pattern! I say, get some yarn you love and cast on! :)

Holy crap. Not much can render me speechless (although I just checked, and it has been more than 10 days since my last blogpost, sigh), but more than 200 bucks for a scarf?!?!?

!?!?!?

Talk about Disposable Income.

Listen, I have Cat Hair Overmuch here at the Dept. If anyone can spin that into yarn, he/she can have it and start earning The Big Bucks by knitting Precious Scarves.

Brigitte- Ok, here's another earworm "who wants to buy-y-y this diamond ring...."

Yikes that's a whole lot of $$$$. And now I have two earworms going on (one for each ear??).

Your kitties are just so adorable. Tyg sends meows to them (and perhaps a tiny swat).

Sweet kitties, our fur babies are always a delight!

$228, is insanity if you ask me. Even the finest yarn int he world is not worth it for a scarf. That is just crazy!

"Spun from the hair of baby Jesus".

You just made me spit out my tea.

Pretty kitties! Now I want another one.

My mother had a way of looking at things that claimed to be hand-knit and saying, "Hand-knit using a machine." Supply your own Tone of Disapproval.
