Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?

Or for that matter, me???  I just realized it's been longer than usual for me between posts.  Nothing drastic, just a couple of weeks that were particularly busy, occasionally uninspiring, and often tiring.  I thought about posts I could write, but couldn't get the thinking to match up with the doing.  Add my regular bouts of extremely excessive laziness, and not much happens ...

But, I was reading Lorraine's blog post a little bit ago, and decided that I wanted to respond to a meme she posted, because I was amused by her answers.  Like her, I'm not going to specifically tag anyone, but if you are so inclined, feel free to write your own post.  However, I do not have as many self-portraits to post as she did - HA!  (BTW, did you know that she is the same Lorraine who designed this?  Love it!  If only she had mentioned that I had given her the idea ... if only I had ... oh well.)

Enough hi-larity - time to tell you 10 Things That I Am Afraid Of:

1.  Being buried alive.  I can't hardly watch anything where part of the plot includes someone being buried alive.

2.  Clowns.

3.  Snakes.  Even when someone says, "Oh it's only a harmless garter snake."  Don't get me wrong - snakes have every right to exist and enjoy their snake-y lives.  As long as we are not anywhere near one another.

4.  Millipedes.  Or Centipedes.  Or anything with too many pedes.

5.  Slugs.  I just creeped myself out typing that.

6.  Haunted houses, even if they are incredibly cheesy and beyond fake.  Not a big fan of unexpected things jumping in front of me, onto me, etc.

7.  Opening the closet when I come home by myself at night.  All because I once watched a movie, where a woman came home, and a friend came in with her to be sure the house was empty, etc.  The friend left, the woman went upstairs to get ready for bed, and as she left the closet door open while going into the bathroom to brush her teeth, the killer came out from behind her clothes.

8.  Not being able to breathe.  Occasionally, I will wake up having an ashtma attack.  The fact that I can't breathe causes an anxiety attack, and then I get another anxiety attack thinking I won't be able to breathe ever again, and on and on.

9.  The Tea Party movement.  'Nuff said.

10.  Great White Sharks.  Long stupid story about this one, but I am not going into it here and now because I'm kinda creeped out just thinking about everything I've written ...

And what about you, my pretties???? [insert maniacal laughter ...]

I can't stop laughing about "too many pedes."

YES. CLOWNS. aaaahhhhhhhiieeee

I am not afraid of the dark, really, but what is hidden IN the dark. I still sprint upstairs from my parents basement without looking behind me and I am a grown-ass woman. I have to sleep with the closet door closed at night. I have no idea why. Apparently my subconscious feels that the boogeyman can't operate doorknobs. I can go outside at night with no problems, but there is a big difference between being out at night here and out at night in say, the unlit county parks.

I am not a fan of haunted houses, either. I haven't been in one since high school and I spent the entire time hiding in someone else's back.

I know spiders serve a purpose and I am fine with them being outside, but inside? Near me? NOOOOOOOOOO.

I am completely with you on snakes. They have their place and I have mine and as long as they're miles apart (or never seen), I don't care.

So. Want to hear about the time I was driving to a friend's house and there was a 12 foot python sunning himself in her street? Before the days of cellphones. I drove to the nearest fire dept & reported it.

Oh, my --- our lists are practically the same! Slugs undo me every time. Clowns are the work of the Devil. And being buried alive. . . OY.

Glad to have you back. I may take you up on that 10 things... post. I'm so with you on #9; gives me the shudders.

I'd just rather not ponder such things. Picture me with a shiver...

Fear is such a strange thing isn't it. I'm not scared of the dark but of what might be under the bed. Even though I know there's nothing htere I still have to try not to get too close tothe edge of the bed if Ihave to get up in the night. Spiders are not my favourite but if they're busy with their thing I can just about stay in the room.

Some scary things on that list. I always have to close the closet doors - it weirds me out to have them open, especially during the night. I don't think I'm up for pondering my top ten :)

That was hilarious!

With you on the Tea Party Movement. Personally, I'd relish being buried alive vs them as a choice! ;-)

Our lists would be very similar! Snakes especially the snakes since I discovered they can climb trees!

I'm with you on the snakes. And I would add big, growly dogs (I went looking for stray kittens once and a big dog protecting his property came up to let me know he did NOT appreciate that!) and bats. I'm also terrified of most medical procedures, and drowning. Certain heights will freak me out as well!

Fun meme Bridget! I too am terrified of snakes and mice and out here in the country, I have plenty. I'm not afriad of pedes, they just don't belong in my house but I can pick them up by one teeny leg and place them outside.

I'm terrified of the Tea Party, Michele Bachman and Sarah Palin, Oh wait, that's redundant.

I'm terrified of people who want to teach creationism and ignore science. Oh wait, I think that's the tea party also.
