A Friday First

This has been a really good week.  We were in West Virginia last weekend for Memorial Day, and then this week both of us were on vacation.  We didn't really go anywhere else or do much else, though some dear friends visited on Thursday which was the best.  Even having a dentist's appt didn't ruin the fun (especially since it was just for a cleaning and a checkup).

I have many stories and some pictures to share with you related to our trip and our week at home, but those will have to wait.

Because you really need to see this:

Now you may be saying to yourself, "Big deal, it's a watermelon sock-in-progress in a planter."  And you would be correct, but it's more than that.  You see, this picture represents two "firsts" for me.  It is the first time I have ever taken a picture using the camera on my new Android tablet (!), and it is the first picture ever that I have posted on Instagram.  If you want to read the HILARIOUS caption (well ...), it's here.*

So you can see that I have joined the twentieth century.

Baby steps, people.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Um I'm in love with your watermelon sock in progress. Me want! So it's a big deal to me.

Also, I'm impressed you have a planter with green things growing and not dying in it. I tell you I don't really feel a need to grow anything but with all the lovely knitters out there with green thumbs, I'm beginning to get a complex.

Who knows, I never thought I'd want to knit socks either. Life is funny.

Lastly, congratulations on the new tablet AND I hope you enjoy Instagram! I like it :)

I wish I had planted some watermelon sock seeds! I love how vibrant the colors are in your sock yarn, and congratulations on your 20th century achievements!

I have an instagram account but I am way too intimidated to use it. Good for you! And the socks are really, really cute.

No tablet, no Instagram, no smart phone. I'm in the dark ages! I do like those socks. I'm going to have to look into finding that yarn.

Bridget- I just got a Smnartphone, and DH has had a tablet for a while. Of all the social sites, Instagram is pretty cool. I loathe Facebook.

Love your sock-
