Love/Hate Relationship

There's a meme going around on Instagram stories, where you name three things that you hate, but everyone else loves.  Since I don't do Instagram stories, I thought it was the perfect thing for Three on Thursday.

So here are Three Things Everyone Else Loves and I Hate*
*(which is to say "dislike strongly" since I don't want to be lectured about the world "hate" ...)

1.  Beyonce.  I think she has talent and she certainly knows how to market herself, but I cannot stand her.  I find her tiresome, self-involved, and completely humorless.  She is way more impressed with and by herself than the rest of us could ever be.

2. Reality TV.  I'm sick of it, and I'm also sick of how it is making people famous who have no legitimate reason to be known other than to their friends and family, due to their toxic and/or stupid behavior.  (Having said that, I should point out that it has provided a good career for one of my nieces who is a TV producer and has worked on some of the reality shows.  Full disclosure and all that.)

3.  Nutella.  I love chocolate.  I kinda sorta like hazelnuts, though they are not my absolute fave.  But I am not a fan of nutella, and by extension all of the food items that use it/incorporate it/are "improved" by it.  I have a lot of friends who think it's the food equivalent of the Second Coming of Christ, and I just don't get it.

The meme on Instagram has you tag three friends to share, but I'll just leave it here for anyone who may want to play along, either on their blog or in the comments.

Reality tv would definitely appear on my list, too. I'd also add watermelon and coffee.

I am dying of laughter at your things (although, Nutella is good - it is not second coming good!)

And, I am going to borrow this for my post today! Thank you for the inspiration!

I have never tried Nutella! (How about that . . . ) I don't watch much TV, and don't "get" reality TV. At all. I kinda like Beyonce, though. :-) I'll have to give some thought to 3 things I hate that everyone else loves, because . . . what a fun question and a great Three on Thursday topic!

This is really good, and I think I'll steal it for my own site.

I totally agree with your Three. I used to be quite smitten with Nutella until I saw a great visual of what it was actually made of. That put me off it for good.

About the only kind of Reality TV I like is Master Chef, and even then, I complain about the dumb team challenges they perform. Just let them cook.

I think Beyonce has fallen under the spell of her own PR.

Briton and I have the Beyonce conversation often. Somehow, if you don't worship her, you hate her, and no one will let that pass. You can not like something and be a perfectly reasonable, pleasant person. Sheesh.

So, so good Bridget! Agree with them all.

I have to agree with you 100% on all three of those!

Here are my additional three:

Pasta - not all but most. I will eat lasagna (but only if Mom or I have made it), the odd pasta from a can (Zoodles or mini-bite ravioli only), one particular brand of tortellini (and only if I use very little sauce and smother it in cheese) and the occasional mac and cheese. I swear, I was the only kid in my school that didn't like spaghetti.

Coffee - I do not understand coffee culture at all. While I do admit, I like the smell, I hate the taste. No matter how much sugar/cream/milk is in it! Blech!

Amazon Alexa/Google Home/Robots in general - Has no one read their Heinlien? Orwell? Any Sci-Fi?????? This is how it all beings people!!

Reality shows are THE most ridiculous thing ever invented in my opinion. My husband is a builder/remodeling contractor and at least once a month he gets a request to build something someone has seen on a renovation show that is no where near close to passing code. As for Nutella, it's okay but I prefer my chocolate to taste like chocolate and my peanut butter to taste like peanuts.

I'm also not a fan of bananas, avocados or pumpkin/pumpkin spice. While I LOVE the mental image of fall that pumpkin spice provides and I love the way it smells, I'm not at all crazy about the way it tastes.

I know nothing about Beyonce as a person but I do admit that I love to watch her dance. It's nice seeing someone who is not a toothpick and I confess of going down the rabbit hole with her on You Tube in the wee hours when I need some brain candy.

I agree with the Nutella and the reality TV. I am old enough to remember the original PBS show that started it all. That family thing with the insufferable son. None of it's gotten any better since then. It may be the ruin of us all.

The only thing I can think of that I hate and everyone else loves is An American in Paris. Other than the Leslie Caron montage in the beginning it's a big yawn for me. I fall asleep every time.

I have to agree with all three items on your list. I would add summer. Most, not all, of my friends hate to see summer end and I am waving it goodbye with both hands.

I'll just say, ditto, ditto, ditto. :)

I couldn't with you more! Especially #1! I don't eat Nutella because I don't eat chocolate. Enjoy your evening dear Bridget. 😅

I'm completely with you here! (That deal when she came out on the throne on some award show...really???) Though I must come clean and admit to watching a bit of reality t.v. in my day.

I am with you on all of this. Now for Beyonce I am sick of her legs, sick of her hair blowing and sick of her life with JZ, I mean she is talented but not that talented. I don't do reality tv and frankly am not sure why people put that fake stuff in their heads. I also do not like any crime dramas, really isn't there enough pain, murder and torture in the real world?
